  • Understanding Tip Sheet’s Pricing Model

    1. Who Pays for Tip Sheet?

Tip Sheet is paid for by the business — not by the staff.

This has been our model from the beginning, and it reflects what Tip Sheet is: a business tool designed to solve a business problem. Just like payroll, POS, or inventory software, Tip Sheet reduces admin, increases consistency, and improves operational efficiency. That’s why the venue covers the cost.

    2. Why Tip Sheet Is a Business Tool

Tip Sheet delivers a direct return on investment by eliminating the manual workload associated with calculating and distributing tips. For most venues, this means saving hours each week on spreadsheets, calculations, and reconciliations.

While staff also benefit from the transparency and structure Tip Sheet provides, we consider ourselves a business application first and foremost. Our model is designed to support venue operators in managing their responsibilities with accuracy and ease.

    3. From Hospo, for Hospo

Tip Sheet was created by hospitality professionals who have spent years on the floor and in senior operational roles across Australia and internationally. We’ve worked for tips, we’ve managed large venues and teams, and we’ve been responsible for implementing tip distribution policies across dozens of different businesses.

That experience shaped both the product and the pricing model. We understand how important tips are to staff, but we also understand the operational pressure on managers. It didn’t feel right to generate revenue from the tips themselves. Instead, we built a system that supports both sides — helping businesses run more efficiently and enabling staff to trust the process.

    4. Tip Sheet’s Distribution Logic

Tip Sheet is designed to allocate 100% of the tips it receives. That logic is at the heart of the system.

Most electronic tips are automatically collected through integrated point-of-sale and payment systems. Cash tips can be entered manually. Once the total is in the system, Tip Sheet applies the venue’s chosen distribution rules and calculates the results.

If you’re an employee reading this, and your venue uses Tip Sheet, you can be confident that the business is aiming to get this process right. If someone wanted to manipulate or withhold tips, there are much simpler ways to do it.

    5. A Tool That Supports Your Policy — Not Ours

Every venue has its own approach to tip pooling and distribution. Tip Sheet doesn’t tell you how to divide your tips — it just ensures that whatever rules you set are followed exactly.

Our job is to take the complexity out of that process, automate it, and make it easier for managers and staff to trust that it’s being handled correctly.

That’s the model: practical, transparent, and built for hospitality.
